Financial Controller in SSC

We are looking for a Financial Controller in the Finance Shared Service Center (SSC) in Enschede and Almere.

Together with your colleagues, you ensure complete and correct financial reporting in accordance with the relevant (Dutch GAAP/IFRS) legislation. You are responsible for the daily handling of the financial control activities, including period closings. You are responsible for the VAT declarations in various European countries (including NL, DE, SE) and you are also a sparring partner for tax advisors for VAT-related matters.

In this position you are also the point of contact for substantive questions from colleagues within finance as well as for questions from the business and the Manager of the SSC. You provide (internal) customers with reports and pay attention to mistakes you encounter. Finally, you are a key user for ERP-related topics.

In this role you report to the Manager of the SSC and you are based in Enschede.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure complete and correct financial reporting in accordance with the relevant (Dutch GAAP/IFRS) legislation
  • Responsible for the daily handling of the financial control activities, including period closing
  • Responsible for the VAT declarations in various European countries (including NL, DE, SE) and you are also a sparring partner for tax advisors for VAT-related matters
  • Point of contact for substantive questions from colleagues within finance as well as for questions from the business and the Manager of the SSC
  • Provide (internal) customers with reports and pay attention to mistakes you encounter
  • Key user for ERP-related topics

What you bring?

  • Completed HBO/WO education in finance, RA education is an advantage
  • At least 3 years of experience within an accounting firm or as a financial controller within an international organization
  • Highly professionally developed in the field of Dutch GAAP/IRFS/VAT
  • Experience or area of Lease accounting practices is welcome
  • Have experience with audits and preparing annual accounts
  • Given the international context, you have perfect command of the English and Dutch language
  • Strong analytical skills and is results-oriented
  • Proactive attitude, aimed at developing yourself and the organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Plus if you are familiar with Power BI solutions
  • Willing to travel
