IT Infrastructure Specialist

As an Infrastructure Specialist you will have at least 5 years’ experience in maintaining, upgrading and managing software, hardware and networks, primarily in the Microsoft product stack. You are an all-rounder and will use your broad base of knowledge to diagnose, identify and resolve problems efficiently. You are a patient, resourceful, methodical & adaptable team player with good communication skills but also confident in your ability to take ownership of issues and work solo as the situation dictates. You will have experience in on-premises hardware and software installation, Azure as a datacenter, VMWare & Office 365 enterprise environments. The role involves both local data center responsibilities and as part of the group infrastructure team supporting the European organizations hybrid infrastructure across 5 data Centers and 16 offices. The role is a mix of day to maintenance & 2nd line support, work packages project tasks. Ideally you will have experience of working in multi office, multi country organization.


The IT Infrastructure Specialist reports to the Senior Infrastructure Manager & IT Delivery Manager. 

Your responsibilities

  • Installation & configuration of software/hardware prem & Azure
  • Manage & maintain local network and services
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems 
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Manage backup & restore tasks (Veeam)
  • Use SCCM/Intune for client management, application packaging
  • As a member of the European Infrastructure team support group infrastructure tasks and projects
  • Setup and maintain technical documentation and manuals 
  • Support 2nd line incidents and service requests as required

 

What you bring

  • Microsoft Server 2012-2022 and their enterprise roles.
  • Practical experience of DNS, DHCP, sharing & security, GPO’s, Powershell, AV products, InTune, SCCM, application packaging
  • Networking and switch management (Cisco CLI).
  • Working knowledge of identity, device and data security
  • Data backup/recovery (Veeam, SEM).
  • Experience in a hybrid infrastructure environment with on prem and cloud data centers.
  • Experience of multi domain environments.
  • Azure Administration, AZ-103/4 an advantage but real world experience working within Azure is what counts.


Desirable

  • A verifiable professional certification from Microsoft MCP/MCSA/MCSE/ AZ103/4 an advantage
  • Professional certifications: Cisco, ITIL etc are an advantage.
  • Experience in SQL admin is an advantage.
  • Experience of working in a multi-site, multi country/language organisation is an advantage.
